Chana Masala w/ Naan

HEY! I apologize for not updating sooner. We've been pretty busy around here with band concerts, work, and a trip to San Francisco (which, by the way, was awesome). Now I am back and ready to show you all some deeeelicious food that I made recently. I was going to make some sort of chickpea curry but it pretty much turned out just like chana masala. The recipe for naan is under this post, so I won't bother posting it again.

Chana Masala

Serves around 4

Ingredients:
2 15 oz. cans of chickpeas, drained
1 14.5 oz. can of tomatoes in chili, slightly drained
2 yellow onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small green pepper, chopped
2 tbsp. curry powder
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
pinch of ginger
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Instructions:
- Throw all ingredients into your crock pot, stir, and set to cook for 8 hours. This will allow all flavors to blend together and ultimately leave you with a delicious dinner!

 - Once it's done cooking, serve it up with your homemade naan and impress your dinner guests (or just yourself) with this amazing meal.

I love easy meals... especially when easy meals are as delicious as this one. I also love Indian food. One of these days I am going to try making samosas. They seem like they wouldn't be too hard to make but I guess I am just worried about messing up something that tastes SO GOOD!

I'll end this post with a picture of Michael and I on Alcatraz (with many of his students wandering around aimlessly). Enjoy!
